last night for his very first solo record "Into the Dirt". He was pronounced "New Artist of the Year" at last month's National Maple Blues Award.

In addition, Thom also received the 2008 CBC Galaxy Rising Star Award.

Congratulations, Brother Thom, from your band mates. We can't wait to hear your sweet sounds again, when we are back on tour together later this year.

Electric Blues Explosion member Thom Swift was honored once again last evening, this time for his very first solo CD "Into The Dirt" by Canada's
National Maple Blues Awards as "New Artist of the Year". Although "Brother Thom" has 5 wins and 11 nominations under his belt over the years with
his trio "Hot Toddy", this was the first time that he was nominated as a solo artist. He is also nominated for the same album by the East Coast Music Awards,
which will be handed out next month.

Last night's win brings the total number of hardware collected by the Electric Blues Explosion members to 24 with a total of 36 nominations.
Carson Downey, Wild T and Keith Hallett are proud to have "Brother Thom" in their ranks and congratulate him on his current win.
(At the same time, they want to remind him not rest on his laurels, as they are looking to collect more awards themselves....).
